NDP 2006 was an unforgettable day. It started out with the group riding at Kallang. Nadiah, Sweets and me plus the freshies. Showed me who have improved in their riding from the intro course. And it gave me a clue as to who can make it to the team for IVP next year.
All was fun and games. Water was high tide. Dam good to ride on. I improved in my one wake jumps. Managed to do 5 without falling. Still have a lot more work to do. Ouh, and my surf the wake and heelside bunny hop have improved too. Now, I need to concentrate on my 2 wake jumps and heelside bunny hop. Thereafter, lipslide and reverse lipslide. Then, my whole novice tricks are complete. That leaves me with 5 more tricks to concentrate on. I can do it!
OK, back to story.
When I was done with my 2nd slot, sweets and me took a Mc’D task on our hands. Task is to by food for 16 people. All riding at Kallang. We can’t order through delivery as the roads were already closed. Eventhough we were going to have a bbq later in the evening, hungry wakeboarders are hungry wakeboarders.
We walk to Mc’D at Kallang with me in Chris shirt which was oversized for me, making me look as if I din wore anything, which I did. We had to go against the flow of the crowd who were making their way to the stadium to witness the parade.
At Mc’D, the queue was soooo long and to top it all of, we had a long list of orders with us. All written on paper. When it was our turn at the counter, 2 service staff waited on us. Permana and John. Both of them held cool under pressure. It wasn’t an easy order to start with, especially with the upsize and changes that some of our hungry friends wanted.
With this, I would like to say, Good Job done Permana and John. You are truly a service personnel who cares. Thank you.
Back at the dock, food was distributed and balance of change were returned to their respectful owners. Thereafter, everyone went to bathe to get ready for the bbq that was gonna start.
The bbq was a blast. Chris Wong brought his lappy and speakers to supply us with music. There was an abundance of food and drinks. Loadz of coke. A whole carton of coke 1.5l bottles. Imagine how happy I was. Ouh, there were beers too and a bottle of red wine. *cheeky smile*
I asked for permission from Paul to open the wine bottle since I always bring my waiter’s friend (wine opener) with me. He said that if I were to open it, I must finish the whole bottle. Guess what? Nah, I din finish the whole bottle by myself. I shared with whoever that wanted some wine. But, I drank 75% of the whole bottle. Not much of them likes to drink wine that much.
Ouh, after the wine, I was still fine. But I topped it with beer and that was when I can’t remember much. Although I know I hit and bit some people. I remember I bit yoyo. For what reason? I have no clue. To all you guys that I bit or hit or whatever else I did. I am so sorry.
